History
PowerTrain was formed in late 2005 after the guys met at and around the Faringdon Arts Festival in Oxfordshire. We are a band specializing in, what our Drummer David Curzon delightfully describes as, "C**k Rock". In simple terms, this is testosterone and beer fuelled Rock music from the 60s through to the 90s. Not a "pleasant evening out" type of music but a lot of fun for us and our audience. The music we play is all covers but, hey, who writes decent rock songs any more?
Influences and material are from bands such as Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Steppenwolf, Bad Company, Free, Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, T-Rex and more so you should get the general idea. We even try to ensure that there are not more than two numbers from each artist in our gig playlist, so there is no way we could be considered a tribute band. If you are looking for a quiet night out, this ain't your thing, but if you like good driving Rock, a good time will be had by all! As David Reynolds says, "If it's too loud, you're too old"
The band is a 5 piece classic guitar rock line-up:
Lead Vocal
Lead Guitar
Guitar
Bass
Drums
If you want to make a booking or find out more about the band, click on the contacts page. See the Gigs page for where you can catch us in action. Geography is getting wider and we are now playing nearly 20 miles from home - almost national recognition.
You can see Photographs of the band in action and, where stated, these are copyright © Al Cane, so go see his site
This "official" web site is regularly updated, so keep watching!
Thanks also to Bryan Bradley of "Wild Rockit" who has stood in for David Curzon from time to time when David was not available.
