Darren Kenyon, Lead Vocal

Darren got into bands following an alcohol fuelled discussion with a couple of mates in the local pub, involving the phrase ‘I’ve always wanted to be in a band’.

Formed ‘Rank Long Hop & The Beamers’ with some fellow cricketers from the local cricket club (hence the name) and after much practice made his debut singing outside the Portwell Bar in Faringdon one balmy evening in summer 2004.

After a few gigs around Faringdon was asked in 2005 if he’d also like to sing some rock classics with a new band forming in the town. Jumped at the chance to belt out tunes from his youth, and after a few practices, and much discussion about a name, PowerTrain were born!

Would kill for a voice like Ian Gillan, Paul Rogers or Robert Plant, and the stage presence and charisma of Freddie Mercury.

Has neither, is working on both! and is having a ball doing it!
